WHY THE LOFT LAW WORKS

Lower Manhattan Loft Tenants (LMLT) is a citywide advocacy organization serving nearly 10,000 loft tenants, more than 80% of whom are working artists. In addition to publishing a newsletter, providing a free weekly housing clinic, and organizing grassroots action meetings, LMLT actively lobbies the New York State Legislature and monitors the New York City Loft Board on behalf of its membership. LMLT also litigates broad-based tenants' issues and occasionally provides individual cases with Amicus Briefs. LMLT's leadership is the LMLT Steering Committee as provided in LMLT's by-laws. We are an all volunteer organization with membership dues to cover operational costs.
